Biography of Donato Dozzy
Over the past few years, Dozzy has been one of the chief characters of the Saturday night events at Brancaleone, one of Italy’s most celebrated clubs and a key promoter of underground music in Rome. He played a leading role at the Microhouse night, together with some of the best dj’s on the international scene, with performances that showed his experience and brilliant skills and included dj sets and laptop sets of great emotional impact, offering a journey across the spectrum and the different hues of electronic music.
As a producer, after his early work with the kitchen tools, Dozzy has been acclaimed by the specialty press and professionals in the field thanks to the records made for Berlin’s Orangegroove and to Elettronica romana (distributed by Neuton and Kompakt respectively). His EPs have been played all over the world by such big names as Miss Kittin, Ricardo Villalobos, Mathew Johnson, Laurent Garnier and Ellen Allien.
Dozzy currently works in Rome and Berlin and collaborates with Brando Lupi, Giorgio Gigli and Claudio Fabrianesi.
