Biography of Digitalism

Electro is the key word of this early XXI century. And dirty electro pogo stuff (that comes directly from the underground of Hamburg´s punk-electro city) is what the duo of Digitalism are all about. Although released on a limited press of white labels, their debut single 'Idealistic' has been followed by a big buzz and has been kicked by DJ´s like Soulwax, Tiga, Jojo De Freq (Nag Nag Nag), and many, many others… like Gildas Loaec, head of Kitsuné (and label manager of Daft Punk´s label Roulé), who played it out in Paris and then contacted them to sign it for his label. The new single, 'Zdarlight', created a huge buzz too, and became one of the Ibiza 2005 anthems. The first Digitalism remix offers then came in, from artists of the like of Daft Punk, Depeche Mode, Tiga, Klaxons, The Futurheads… and in the meantime they enjoyed themselves also with an unofficial re-edit of Fire in Cairo by The Cure. Aside from the productions, Digitalism rock the crowd with a brilliant mixture of electro, wave, punk, bastard pop, acid, minimal and tech-house… either on four decks simultaneously or on two decks with a double headphone (one spins the track while the other one is dropping some accapellas, edits or efx).

Comment: I've never even heard of Digitalism before but a friend recommended them to me and I wasn't disappointed. I really enjoyed this set, it had a massive selection of tunes in this mix and I think it is well worth the download.

Comment: The set has a multitude of sounds and selections. Well balanced and keeps a great flow. This is the first time I have heard a digitalism set, but it won't be the last. I would highly recommend this set.
