Biography of Tobi Neumann
Tobias Neumann, born on the 19th of July in 1965, is Producer and DJ. From 1980 on, he plays guitar in several bands, mostly Jazz and Funk. Subsequently, he does a training as a sound engineer and works in this job from 1987 to 1989. From 1987 on, he produces film music and works as a producer for several bands. From 1989 on, Tobias is self-employed and works for several TV Companies.
Between 1990 and 1995, he produces three albums for the german band 'Milch' and the debut of well-known german indie rockers 'Bananafishbones'. He writes more film scores and music for commercials. In 1995, Tobias visits the Love Parade in Berlin for the first time and decides one year later to become a DJ. His first sets take place at Sexy Land and Panasonic in Berlin, at Pudel-Club in Hamburg, at Ultraschall in Munich, at the Funky Chicken Club in Cologne, he does the Disko B-Tour in Essen, Cologne, Frankfurt, Munich und Mannheim and works as Resident DJ at the Muffathalle in Munich. Furthermore, he still writes scores and music for commercials and gets in touch with the later 'Chicks on Speed'.
The year 1998 marks the beginning of the 'Flokati House Club'-Parties at Ultraschall where Tobi becomes Resident DJ. He also produces the second 'Bananafishbones' album as well as three tracks for the highly successful german mystery thriller '23'. A year later, the scores for 'Der Bunker', 'Der Voyeur' and 'Fußball ist unser Leben' are created. Tobi is a very demanded producer and works for 'Die Sterne', 'Stella', 'Bananafishbones', 'Chicks on Speed', DJ Hell, Patrick Pusinger and the Disko B-Label among others. In 1999, he gets in touch with Sven Väth's Cocoon in Ibiza for the first time and produces for Sven, Ricardo Villalobos and others. He plays at U 60, at Monza, at Robert Johnson and Dorian Gray in Frankfurt, at Airport in Würzburg, at the Loveparade as well as at Amnesia and at Space in Ibiza.
In 2000 / 2001, he writes the score for 'Mädchen, Mädchen' and hits the charts with 'Kaltes Klares Wasser' by 'Chicks on Speed'. He moves to Berlin and plays all big festivals like Time Warp, Love Park, Love Castle, Paleo Festival Genf, Blauer See, Pollerwiesen or Mayday Polen. He is also a demanded remixer: 2Raumwohnung, Sieg über die Sonne, Human League, Phantom & Ghost call on him. Tobias is nominated for best remix and best production at the German Dance Awards. Besides that, he gets an award for 'Kaltes Klares Wasser' as Best Vinyl Sales Hit.
2002 brings more production orders for Tobias: 'Golden Boy with Miss Kittin' and the 'Chicks on Speed' are the clients. He remixes Sven Väth's 'Mindgames' and plays at the Time Warp, the Mayday Dortmund and St. Petersburg, Sonne, Mond & Sterne, Love Park Hanau, Womb-Club Tokyo and Blauer See Ratingen. Besides that he is still Resident DJ at the Monza Frankfurt and the Flokati in Munich.
