Biography of Darkside Flow
Darkside Flow (aka Ian Minton) has been involved in the Toronto Drum and Bass circuit as a performer for only three short years but has already made a significant impact with 6+ years of promotion experience. Gaining attention for both the music he plays and the way he plays it, Ian is one of the few DJs to gain widespread recognition without focusing on production. Having said that, you can still spot a few original tracks in his sets. Ian's style is made up of all aspects of Jungle/Drum and Bass music with an emphasis on dark, soulful and minimal elements. Darkside Flow is reknowned for seemlessly mixing across sub-genres to create a unique aural experience.
Launching his career in 2004, after an almost life long interest in DJing, with the help of Empire Productions, Ian has been steadily involved in the upper echelon of Toronto events. Holding residency at virtually every weekly event across the GTA has also helped boost Darkside Flow into the spotlight. You can currently catch him representing at events organized by Two Tone, Contact, Theory, Empire, Platform and many others including West-End Productions, his joint venture with partners Chris (Red Alert) and Matt (Haatley).
Ian has supported a vast array of acts from Bassline Smith and The Upbeats to Teebee and Commix. He prides himself on providing a versatile selection consisting of unreleased tracks and the freshest vinyl mixed to enhance the vibe and promote quality music. Check the events section for booking dates and don't forget to tune in to JungleTrain.net every Friday from 9-11pm EST (2-4am GMT) for his Two-Tone Mix Show alongside DJ Mowgli and MC LA.
