Biography of Peter Gelderblom

Peter's musical career starts at the age of 14 (1979) musically inspired by Earth Wind & Fire, Ohio Players, George Benson etc. He played at a club near Rotterdam for 6 years with great succes (LaBaraque, The Netherlands) which resulted in having a new residency at the biggest club in Rotterdam (Ramblas Club). He played there for nearly 10 years (1985-1995) !! During the week he worked as a storemanager at Midtown records in Rotterdam. After those glory days at Ramblas it was time to start something for his own together with his wife Helen. The result was a club on a boat called Barocca(1996) which was no doubt the most populair afterclub in the Netherlands at that time. During the week he started to work as a labelmanager and producer for the wellknown recordlabel 'Blue Records'.

After 4 years Barocca had to close his doors because of new rules of the city of Rotterdam. It was a big slap in the face and he had a hard time for a year, but Peter and Helen recovered and started at a new club called The Revolution (2000) and again it was (and still is) a great success. During this period he met Rene Amesz who was working at Midtown and they discussed if there was a possibility to co-operate and produce together. They built a brand new studio in the centre of Rotterdam at the back of a record store called Rhythm Import. The store didn..t work so well but Peter was 100% sure that it was possible to make the shop work well again, so he bought it. He's currently a club/shop/studio owner and producer with his music partner and big friend Rene Amesz. Releases under their own names and their project ' Underground Movement ' are wellknown all over the world. The current productions of Peter Gelderblom are apreciated by great artists such as David Penn, Dj Chus & Ceballos, Deep Dish, Roger Sánchez, Simon & Shaker, Sander Kleinenberg, Joe T Vanelli, Hernan Cattaneo, Pete Tong, etc... and his very personnal sets seduce with an not comparable and unique groove which turns him into one of the best funky house & tribal house deejays in the world. You can add this to Last News if u like it of feel it: Comments on DJ Mag Spain October 2006: ..Fast Forward Parade Report. Peter shows us on the dance floor that he not only has a very good music taste and excellent producing but moreover he is technically perfect due to his smooth transitions, his apropiate scratches, his beautiful versus with accapellas, his 3 deck mixes, and attention!: some microphone performances! This really is a DEEJAY in capital letters..
