Biography of Wish

Power moves in circles... Wish believes in progression. Music should be powerful and make you feel as if you are experiencing something that words cannot say, expressed only through the universal language of sound. For her, it's about motion and emotion. Wish loves music with attitude and power. She has been into all forms of art ever since she could hold a crayon in her hand and hum a tune out loud. She always has a song in her head (usually a few!) and a vision that keeps her going.

Wish has been training as a vocalist since she can remember (being raised by her mom who is a musician / vocalist) and played a variety of musical instruments (piano, violin, flute, saxophone, drum machines, etc.) from the time she was in Elementary School until she discovered her love for vinyl and Technics 1200's.

Wish plays music that gives her goosebumps (mostly breakbeats). She has been deejaying in nightclubs since 1995 and making electronic music since she was 21. She always had to have the music she loves at her fingertips. Wish first got into Underground Electronic Music around 1991, and eventually she bought records simply because the songs she wanted didn't come out on CD at that time. She ended up making herself tapes to listen to in her car, and soon enough others heard her tapes and liked what she played as well.

Wish got her first residencies in Annapolis (The Place) and in DC (Tracks and The Edge) in 1997, and started working with some close friends of hers in Baltimore as well; such as DJ Who (Tribalism/Deep Rising/SNS Records), Leni K (The Spot/1722), Family Productions and Cypher Productions. Wish has had several residencies in the Baltimore area and beyond: one in Norfolk, VA for F(x) Productions at their venues Flood and NorVa; where she played once every other month. She had a weekly residency at Ozone in Baltimore, MD which she arranged bookings for as well on Tuesday nights and a bi-monthly residency at The Spot Niteclub in Baltimore, MD several years ago. Some other venues Wish has played at are: Buzz/Nation (DC), Redwood Trust (MD), The Metro (NY), Tonic (NC), Tutto Mondos (NC), Zodiac (PA), Holiday Inn Miami (FL), Liquid 17 (VA), WODU Radio (VA), WMUC Radio (MD), Breaks FM, Piarate Radio (CA), IHA Hall (VA), Seldon Arcade (VA), Meltdown (VA), Databass (VA), Recovery (MD), Awakenings (MD), Midnite (MD), Infinity Soundstage (MD), Hepburns (MD), Wilmer's Park (MD), Skylab (MD), Déjà Vu (MD), Callaway Club (MD), China Room (MD), Palomas (MD), Plush (MD), Love Parade San Francisco (CA), Portland (OR), Phoenix (AZ), random warehouses and many more.

Wish has worked as a co-host for the radio show Audio Infusion every Saturday night/Sunday morning from midnight to 5am on WEAA 88.9 FM in Baltimore, as well the resident breaks deejay and talent scout for Real Time Radio, which broadcasts on live365.com. Having just moved across the country from Baltimore/Washington DC to Southern California, she worked on a bi-weekly radio show for BreaksFM on Friday nights with Odeed. Recently, she had been remixing and making new original music, creating their website, working on art and producing several new tracks and remixes with the other half of W.E. Recordings, Odeed.
