Biography of Sickboy

Sickboy aka Jurgen De Smet blows post-consumer waste and suburban anger through his music and is deeply involved with the infamous widerstand.org network.

The tradition of combining perversity and playfulness into a true soundclash has never left post-modern music alone, acting as culture vultures ramping their way through carcasses of crispy produced megabits to vigour sampling of smirky headlines. Sickboy has more than upped the ante with this hairsplitting slab of digitized breakestral chaos, never suggesting melodies or functional rhythms it draws from but juggling without remorse on the dividing line between acceptability and grimy flavoured cynism. Gonna clear rooms quicker than a megaton fire alert, and sure to leave the patriotic-minded behind with a hammer smashed face. Music that'll stir up any godforsaken industrial pigeonhole with a whirlwind...

Comment: this mix dates back to beginning 2002 or end 2001 (at least that's the date it surfaced at widerstand.org) and was originaly called "the true definition of milkplus"

after seeing him live on every wood and breakcore infested party in the region, this is still the kind of music i like more then his sets he brings nowadays. we need more sickboys behind the decks instead of freakin out behind a laptop (but that's just my view)

Comment: I like my techno without a lot of words, and the southpark touch was truly annoying. I dont know why someone would want to listen to this, but thats their own taste. I wouldnt reccommend this unless u like southpark in ur music.

Comment: Personally not my bag of Gabber. Nice intro, but no change-up throughout. A bit of a change here and there would have been nice.

Comment: This set was crap! I cant believe this shit can pass for music. And it's NOT HARDCORE!!! The first track sound like the DJ pass out on his controls and accidently pushed a bunch of buttons and knobs. It's a sad day for Hardcore today.

Comment: what strikes me first when listening to mixes like this is how many people write comments on how they love this cus its so fuckin 'ard! Well, yeah, its hard, but so is slab of concrete ... and about as melodious. Pesonally I liked most of it, but not all. Seems to loose the plot at times and forgets that music, whether structured, or broken, needs melody or beats, not simply noise.

Comment: while it does, at times, cross the line into "just noise" this set is definately worth a listen for all hardcore fans. it's all about pushing the limits of what music is and isn't supposed to sound like.

Comment: Took me some time to get into it, but after listening for about 15min i was impressed. Right level of agressivness in the beats. Breakcore at its best. And yes, i was sad that it was over after only 42 min.
