Biography of Voidloss
Voidloss sounds like Trent Reznor and Lustmord battered around the head with some underground techno influences, and injected with enough mind altering substances to send them into the darkest suicidal depression.
Influences:
Ministry, Alain Jourgenson, The young Gods, Morphine, Trent Reznor and NIN, Luc Besson, Shinya Tsukamoto, Chu Ishigawa, Immersion Sound System, Terry Gilliam, Russel Mills, Harold Budd, James Obarr, Frank Millar, Massive Attack, Prodigy, Underworld, Fluke, Inigo Kennedy, Arvo Part, The God Machine, Soundgarden, Bjork, Tony Bennet, Casual Violence, Villain, and more.
DirtyBass Records is a label born out of the London underground techno scene, formed as an outlet for the sounds being played by Steve D-Bass on the various free party warehouse sound systems he was a part of in the close of the glory years of the London free party scene in 2002.
The label concept is to blend together the many facets of techno on one record, defying the pigeon holes of sub sub genres. The wide world of well made techno of all forms is the order of the day.
The first release catapulted the label into high profile with the Emotional Soundscapes track that was immediately jumped on by the biggest names in the industry. The label has stayed in the same position from then on, straddling the commercial and underground camps and releasing records to a schedule based on quality rather than quantity.
Led by the diverse sounds of Dirty Bass himself the records have gone through a stream of styles, from big room commercial bass line driven techno, to dark, minimal broken beats, reflecting his moods and musical likes at the time. New faces have been spotted as talent are also being and will be supported by the label, which continues to look forwards with an aim of releasing professional, new techno of diverse output that works the dance floor.
