Biography of Scientific Live

Scientific Live! is the official 'drum&bass live-act' from Scientific Records, an internationally oriented label focussing mainly on the danceable yet atmospheric & musical sides of drum 'n bass and downtempo music. The label features well known artists such as ASC (usa), Orion (usa), Electrosoul System (ru), Resound (fi), Dissident (ru), Cryo (ru), Kom'ah (nl), Deepflow (nl), ICR (hu), Intersidereal (ru), Twister (nl), Method One (usa), Centrik (nl), Meightk/Mentz (nl), DJ Remol (nl), Blue Shift (ru), John Doe (nl), and labelhead Mav (nl).

Scientific Live! evolved during years of close friendship and collaboration between Mav, Twister and the multimedia artists and VJ's of E202 musicvisualizers and Farewell Industries. The Scientific Live! collective develops new means to make electronic music - on stage - even more attractive. Visuals, interactive story telling, text, scratches, beatboxing, vocalists, dancers, instruments, installations, .. Nothing can be excluded.

Together the artists that embody Scientific Live! not only dedicate themselves to bring the broad musical vibe of the Scientific label to dancefloors and chillout rooms worldwide, but also join their skills in order to facilitate various productions on dvd, vinyl, cd and the net.

As well as in the online mixes and releases of the Scientific label, labelhead Mav is always responsible for putting together the appropriate tracks/set for any occasion where Scientific Live! is about to perform. To output the final sound and its dynamics to the speakers, Twister is concerned with most of the audio engineering of the hard- and software used on stage. Both producers also play live guitar, synths, additional FX, etc while performing.

In addition to the music, E202 musicvisualizers (DB & Mid) hook up their RE:PLAY application, a self-programmed midi based VJ tool for live performances. With this perfect tool E202 supports every performance of Scientific Live! with their distinctive style of hi-tech motion graphics.

The creative concept is coordinated by Masz (Farewell Industries), who develops content and installations in order to integrate the various disciplines within the Scientific Live! performance.

Sr__bmp (Spacekeek) combines his mystic and sometimes poetic texts to appear on screen, in the sampling effects or in any other sense that adds more human content to the abstract, emotional energy that Scientific Live! aims to create.

The act is complete when DJ Remol hits the decks for additional scratching, Squezel (aka Leon du Star) hits the mic with his superb beatboxing techniques, and Gloomy hits the stage with his special electric boogie dance moves.
