Biography of Linga Sharira
There are those who enjoy the fad of being a DJ. They show up, play some popular tracks that most other DJs tend to play, and drop tracks the crowd expects to hear. Then there are artists who bring their own style, their own sound, play their own tracks and get the crowd to listen to something different. Such is the nature of DJ/Producer Linga Sharira. However, don't assume these attributes were cultivated overnight.
Born in Toronto, Canada- Linga Sharira's passion for music and DJing began at the young age of 8 when he received a Mickey Mouse turntable as a birthday gift. Unfortunately, funding for records from his parents fell short after he kept scratching over their tunes. By the time he was 10 years of age, Linga Sharira had purchased his first 4x4 disco style cassette tapes, which ended up exposing him to House music. Two years later, Linga Sharira began mixing tracks he deemed 'mixable' making use, for the first time of double cassette players that contained dual speeds and slow forwards By the age of 15, he began playing at local events after he purchased his first mixer and turntables (with a little help from his grandmother) that came equipped with pitch control. After trying to mix with dual speed cassette players while holding the slow forward buttons ever so gently, the pitch control was a blessing.
Having a mild interest for the House classics, Linga Sharira's transition to electronic music occurred with the Trance of the early to mid 90's. These classics had given him a new love of this art form of pure music. From there on, although having a love for this genre, his style and sound has developed from his motto of D.H.T. – dark (deep), hard and “techy”.
His style of hard beats, haunting melodies, tight harmonic mixing, driving bass, synth-heavy and “techy trippy” sounds has sparked much interest in those who admire the fascinating atmospheric sounds of electronic music to those who pack the dance floors. At times he makes use of keyboards/synths for live performances which ends up becoming more of a concert rather than a DJ set. He is also known for producing and mixing deep ambient and down tempo tracks. However, to classify his sound as either techno, tech-trance, psy or down tempo would be undermining his sound. He refers to his sound and style simply as electronic music; a sound and style that defines Linga Sharira- a state of energy and spirituality. Also, living up to the characteristics of a Linga Sharira – a doppelganger. Linga is known for DJing and producing under many different projects and aliases that enhance his overall sound.
It is no secret that Linga Sharira has won many DJ competitions such as one held by DSM. Why 10,500+ Klublife magazine voters rated his mix the highest and how he has earned record deals with Warner Music/Hi-Bias and more. Although this comes as no surprise since he has received plenty of positive feedback from promoters and party goers alike who have had a chance to listen to his music and sets at either small underground venues to large venues such as the legendary Docks Entertainment Complex in Toronto, Canada. However, these competitions and such do not mean a great deal to Linga Sharira.
His interest is not in tracks that make people dance for a couple Saturday nights. His interests are with tracks that have substance and that leave an impression. His aim is to play and perform music- his music and his style with those who appreciate electronic music. Whether it is on various radio shows across the globe or at a local event to collaborations with talented artists- Linga Sharira hopes you can experience a musical journey with him sometime soon.

Biography of Samuel L Session
Way back in 1988 Samuel bought his first mixer and a pair of regular turntables. That was his first step into the music business. Mixing everything from hiphop, house and techno he began to explore the phenomenon of mixing. In 1991 he formed a party organization with his friend Max Reich, and started to pull off parties around Gothenburg. During the same time Samuel also started spinning the wheels of steel outside his bedroom.
When Max got a proper studio in 1995, he felt it was time to take a step further, so he asked Max to teach him the basics about producing. A couple of months after that they formed Solid Beat, a techno label distributed by Neuton. As time went by Samuels skills became more and more polished, so he felt he was ready to move on by him self. Samuel needed to start something of his own.
So, 1997 was the year when the first Cycle came out in the shops. Titled 'Techno Soul Pt 1', it contained laidback grooves for cool out corners. In the first two years he only released three, but in late spring of 1999 he decided to really have a go on it.
And that's when things really took off for Samuel. 'In Your Box' became his breakthrough record. Being played by people like Derrick May, Jeff Mills, Umek among others, people out there really started to take notice of him. The following release, 'Check Out This I Bring' made him even shinier as a wider range of jockeys span his wax. The phone started to ring more and more frequently, asking for his services regarding spinning, remixing and releasing.
Before he put Cycle on a break in 2001 to form SLS, eleven releases had seen the light of day. Now with SLS on hand he felt trying out other parts of the spectrum .'New Soil' became the first one, a double pack filled with warm, more melodic grooves. The first track, 'Velvet', became a hit on the floors and were later being remixed by Safety Session and FunkDVoid. Since then, there has been records made and remixed by various people such as Slam, Andreas Saag, Hertz and Oliver Ho.
To sum up the history so far its been some thrilling years, and the last chapter is not even in sight as he is still in demand to spread that techfunk around the planet.
