Biography of Intex Systems

Intex Systems is the pseudonym of producer James Clements - best known for his production under the ASC name, within the drum & bass genre.

The Intex Systems name was taken from the an old video game, by the name of Alien Breed. James first introduced this production name for a number of drum & bass productions for the New York based Offshore outfit, but over time, James decided that he would keep all things drum & bass under the ASC name.

Never one to be restricted by boundaries and tempos, James started venturing further afield from sped up breakbeats at 170bpm. Initially, it was the influence of Future Sound Of London that forged the initial Intex path, but as time went by, and as James became immersed in other styles of music, the Intex moniker became a melting pot for avante garde musical experimentation and experiments.

2006 saw the release of the debut Intex Systems LP - 'Research & Development'. Spanning 18 tracks, and holding zero genre classifications, the LP was a hit with music fans worldwide. Again, the FSOL influence is fully evident, especially in the flow and layout of the music. A follow up to the LP is under way, and should see a late 2008 release.

2006 also saw the Intex project move into Dubstep territory with James bringing his unique production style to the genre. With releases lined up for Vaccine, Hotflush & Dubline already, the Intex name adds further diversity and originality to it's ever growing arsenal.
