Biography of Aeiou
Aeiou (pronounced 'ay-oo') is the musical moniker of Stefan Lewandowski, a graphic designer by trade, and part of the Birmingham-based agency 3form. Along with John Xela, he heads up the Type Records label and his individual style forms the backbone of the Type visual style.
As part of Default, the UK-based 'warm electronic music' collective, he is known for his experimental DJ sets. Not pandering to commercial constraints, he strays into the forays of minimal electronic music, exploring the output of labels such as 12k, Mille Plateaux and of course Type, mixing this seamlessly into the more organic end of the electronic sound spectrum.
The result is an unexpected marriage between music made completely by computers, and music made using live instruments which creates a sound that challenges our minds and is simultaneously pleasing to the ears, something too often forgotten in this area of music.

Comment: Well, maybe I like things a bit less mellow than I originally thought. I'm sure this is a fine chill-out set, but it really hasn't grabbed me yet. And, I agree, the file quality could be better.
I'm not recommending against it, just saying that you should *really* want a downtempo sound (and a small file size) before hitting the download button!

Comment: very mellow set. Mainly based around string based tracks, nice break down around the 1hr mark, but apart from that, enjoy only if you want to daze away.

Comment: of the four aeiou sets available here, this one is the most accessible from an harmonic standpoint. it includes four tet's "glue of the world," which gives a good sense of the general mood of this mix.

Comment: very very chilled , this is great background music when kicking back, wayyyback. it is nice chill very ambient I bit slow for me at the mo but willl come inhandy for the downtime.very mellow the whole way through if this is the vibe you require then definetly dowload. very nice for a chill set..
