Fusion - Summer Mix - 2007

Biography of Fusion

I am 26 years old and live in bexleyheath, kent. I became involved in drum and bass in 1994 through listerning to jungle tapes at school of dj’s like hype, mickey finn, grooverider etc which gave me a taste for jungle. I then got my first set of decks which were an old set of technics from my cousin paul who djed old skool hardcore, which gave me the mixing bug and although it took me a few years to grasp mixing i loved every minute of it and i decided that mixing records was what i really loved to do. I then taught myself to dj also at the same time i was saving up for ages to buy a set of 1210s. I then started to go to my local record shop to buy drum and bass records whilst still at school, the record shop was Vinyl Conflict in Bexleyheath Kent owned by special k. I built up a friendship with him and asked him if could do my work experience there and at 15 years old i loved every minute of it. I also worked there helping out now and again for a few years.

I only really started to take dj ing really serious and start to send out demos about 2 years ago and since then i have played at various parties and clubs in Kent and London playing along side dj’s mickey finn, ray keith, brockie, zinc, swift, special k & bryan gee. I have also played on internet radio with guest spots on Worldwide F.m and also Love2Radio with hopefully a regular show coming soon and monthly shows on Belgium’s cc-radio in the pipeline. I also put regular mixes on the internet and my mixes always get wicked feedback in all the forums i post them on and i am now recognised in Australia, New Zealand, Estonia, America, Canada, Holland, Germany, and of course the U.K. I have played in America & Sweden and i look forward to playing in more country’s as well as playing out more frequently in the u.k. I play drum and bass right across the board from the more mellow / liquid stuff up to the darker / harder beats. i will always try to incorporate all styles in my sets and mixes as variety is the key in my opinion and hopefully my sets show that. check my blog for recent sets.
