Biography of Tayla

After growing up on the outskirts of North London and developing a love for Detroit House music and breakbeats, Tayla quickly formed a friendship with another local DJ, LTJ Bukem. Then in 1991, while on holiday in Ibiza, he blagged his first DJ set. The decision had been made and his pursuit to become a successful DJ began. After months of hard work and networking his talent and unique style was recognised by Murray from Dreamscape and Chris and Jay from World Dance to name a few.

Around this time Tayla started to venture into the studio. Firstly, with Travis from Satin Storm and they produced 'Lets Get Together' which made an impact on the scene and was championed by some of the top dj's. That track gave him some of the exposure he was searching for.

Then in 1993, Bukem formed Good Looking Records and Tayla produced his first and Good Looking's second release 'Bang The Drums'. He then went on to collaborate with more Artists, namely Photek (Bringing me Down/Soul Searching) PFM and Artemis. As he moved further into the scene he started to make an impact with his djing at the infamous Logical Progression events at clubs like Ministry of Sound, Cream and all over the globe.

In 1997, after various releases on the Earth Compilations and Logical Progression albums, Tayla started his own label 'Nexus Records', which saw the first release, Doc Scott's 'Tokyo Dawn' come out as a limited edition vinyl through the Earth box set. Then followed releases from Tayla, Alaska, LTJ Bukem's 'Music' rework and the classic 'Jazz Lick' from Peshay. 2000 saw the release of 'Soul Survivors' a Nexus compilation album that showcased the diversity of the labels sound.

Finally, after some time out of the scene, Tayla is back in the studio with a new production partner 'Furney'. A guy who has been behind the scenes for years and is now emerging as an exciting new talent. They have many tracks already produced together, which are to be released on Good Looking and Nexus and they are now both looking forward to a very bright future.....

Biography of MC Fearless

As most Jungle MC’s, MC Fearless has been running the UK Drum n Bass circuit for the good part of his career. Blazing hot venues, late night motorway runs to get from gig to gig, to tearing apart every stage at every event, every weekend of every year. To some, the lifestyle seems lavish and exciting but to Mr. Fearless, it’s just another day at the office.

For the first 10 years of his career, the bad boy London MC exploded on the scene and hustled his way through the trenches and built up the name MC Fearless to a household name for every Jungle music lover. After sitting in the top 5 for 10 years consecutively amongst the best in the business, Fearless knew that it was time to go over the top. “I never aimed to be the #1 guy. When you sit in the number spot, there is only 1 way to go after that.” Explains Fearless. “For me, I just want to maintain my position among the best of the best. Consistency is what has kept me around for so many years. I also realized though that to maintain your position, you must maintain your Hustle.” And so in 2003, he did what he knew he needed to do to take it to the next level. “When I won the first year, I was beside myself. It was like it didn’t register at first that I had won until I got on that stage and looked at all the fans and me peers cheering and bigging me up, then the only person I could think about was my moms. That award is still sitting proudly on her mantel in the living room of my parent’s house.”

As 2004 rolled around, ‘The Bad Boy MC who rock’d the party’ saw what it took to achieve the award last year and put his foot to floor once again. After a ridiculous performance schedule and working on building his Hustlin Beats imprint, Fearless saw himself back on stage for the 2nd time at the Accelerated Culture Awards to accept his second BEST CROWD HYPE MC AWARD for the 2nd year in a row. When asked his thoughts on his 2nd award, the humbled MC simply stated, “This one stays on my mantel.” the 3rd goes in the hustling beatz office. As time passes by Fearless finds himself on the pitch once more, not giving in, he still jettin across towns an citys spreading the word of hustling beats, searchin alongside partner in crime (Ryan Ruckus) for the highest quality beats 2 release on the infamos Hustlin beats. 2005 se’s fearless in the studio working on some vocal tracks featuring himself alone, there will be colaborations with other artists but 4 now fearless is concentrating on perfecting his voice on record should’nt b a problem.
