Biography of Dan Lucas
In a time of monotonous techno DJs, Dan is one of the few who strive to bring hard, fast-paced, and precise DJ sets to people's ears. Specializing in techno of the harder flavor, Dan utilizes three turntables to rock sound systems and heads. In order to make his mark on the records he plays, he finds it necessary to constantly cut and scratch each mix. This practice ensures to keep the crowd on edge at all times. Each set is a high in itself, fans do not walk away disappointed. The solid mixing Dan brings to the tables makes it possible to incorporate multiple genres into his sets. Not content with sticking to one style of techno, his track selection is extremely diverse. Ranging from hard techno, Detroit, acid, minimal, electro and booty.
Dan is one of the founding members of the Detroit Techno Militia, a group of dedicated, talented, and revered techno musicians hailing from Detroit. DTM has partnered with such groups as Cratesavers and Submerge in order to expand their techno sound worldwide. As a component of DTM, he has had the pleasure of playing for crowds in Chicago, Toronto, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles.
