Biography of Fafa Monteco

Fafa was born in May 1968 in Lyon (South Of France) and raised in Marseille untill the year 2000. Based now in Paris, Fafa began to make a name in the 80’s when he was presenting a show on a riviera's radio station, mixing Funk, Disco, Hip-Hop, and Dance-Music.

His “Mastermix Show” ended at the beginning of the 90’s, when Fafa decided to imply himself in the Techno Movement, organizing and promoting many rave parties. Parallel to, Fafa started to work on tracks and released his first ep in 1997.

But his career as an artist really took off in the year 2000 with the release of “Lucky Star”, under the pick-name of “Superfunk”, which sold no far of 1 million singles worldwide! Despite the success, Fafa made no secret that this project was just for fun and stopped delivering tracks for the band. His following solo productions and remixes showed the real talent of Fafa in deeper sounds, and quickly big names like Depeche-Mode, Moby, Cerrone, Shirley Bassey, Omar... asked Fafa to remix them. (His remix of 'I Feel Loved' has been considered by some official Depeche-Mode's fans sites as one of the best remixes ever done for DM...)

But the talent of Fafa doesn't stop with production. He plays too in the most famous clubs of the world, cementing a reputation of a jack-of-all-trades dj, playing the finest in Deep-Techy House, Electro, Techno and All-Time Classics. As with any good djs, he possesses too an impeccable technic of mixing, and the talent to federate and make crying dance-floors on new sounds, of which he is very fond of.

A list of few clubs he played: Mykonos “Cavo Paradiso”, Singapore “Centro”, Ibiza “Pacha”, Tel-Aviv “Vox”, Beirut 'Basement', Istambul 'Crystal', Stuttgart “M1”, Bruxelles 'Fuse', Anvers 'Café d'anvers', Sydney 'Tank', London “Fabric” & 'Turnmills', Tbilissi 'Music Hall Adjara', Miami 'Nikki Beach', Paris 'Rex Club', 'Pulp', 'Mix', 'Redlight'...

As a very prolific artist, Fafa runs too since 2001 his own label, “Hypnotic”, whose releases are played by the most famous international djs (Laurent Garnier, M.A.N.D.Y, Ewan Pearson, Ivan Smagghe...)

Another chance to ear Fafa play is to listen to his show on Radio FG/ Paris, biggest electronic music radio in France, every thursday night from 2 to 3 am (live on www.radiofg.com), or to attend his famous 'Hypnotic Parties', once a month at Mix club.
