Biography of DJ R-Man

Born in Armenia (former USSR) and raised in a musical family, Armen always was a true music lover. With parents being professional musicians, music was always in Armen's family. Growing up with Classical, Jazz, Classic Rock and many other genres of music he was always influenced to grow up to be a musician of any kind. From 1st to 4th grade he was attending a music school taking piano lessons with excellence. Sadly because of changing houses and other difficulties he stopped going to music school. In 1991 Armen and his family left Armenia and came to United States. That's when he heard and fell in love with Hip Hop. Ever since then he was into Hip Hop and little by little went towards the underground sound and events.

In 1999 Armen's friend took him to a Rave where he discovered a new sound: The Electronic Sound. Since that day he started researching on the new genre of music he had discovered. In September 2001 Armen bought his Technics turntables. At first it was all about trance and Hip Hop. Beginning of 2002 Armen started a club called Legacy for a brief period where resided also as a Hip Hop and Trance DJ. Being into the sound of Hip Hop at the time, he began mixing Trance and Electronic music into an extremely melodic but progressive and uplifting sound. Armen's style also combines a Groovy mixture of Funk, Jazz and Techno. DJ's that have inspired him are Hard Techno DJ Mauro Picatto and Trance DJ Ferry Corsten. In May of 2002 Armen landed his first gig and gained residency at Club Illusion at Orion, Downtown LA. After his first residency he got 3,4 other residencies within months.

On May 4th, 2002 Armen and his friends went to Las Vegas to see Sasha and Digweed on their Delta Heavy tour. After this amazing experience Armen's sound went towards more progressive and darker sound and of course with melody and emotions in it. He also plays and loves House and Ambient music. In 2003 Armen discovered online radio and started getting his fame from there throughout the world. His favorite DJs are John Digweed, Danny Howells, Jimmy Van M, Sasha, James Zabiela, Steve Lawler, Erick Morillo, Roger Sanchez, Phil K, and a few more. Armen is on a couple of production projects with producers Michael Darius (SOG, Blue Room) and Trifactor (CP, Virgin). You may catch Armens live sets on many online radio stations: XTC Radio London, Frisky Radio, Trancesphere Radio, Afterhoursdjs, Pure DJ Radio, and many more stations. Armen's Aliases are Dj R-Man and Armen Ayje. As Armen says 'Music Is A Religion... Follow It!', and 'Live Music... Love Life!'
