Biography of Dubfunk

Dubfunk sets are rooted in a love of house music, deep, warm eclectic Progressive house with a strong break & Electro influence. Putting a label on Dubfunk is hard, and he prefers it that way, his hallmark is Breath takingly smooth, skilful and often rapid transitions between a wide variety of genres in any given set.

Currently, much of his time is taken up as one of the most rising DJs & Producers, spreading the uniquely exciting and energetic melodic progressive sound that has come to be known as the “Dubfunk” sound, a sound that can be found in his consistent release of his own sets & production.
In the late 80 s is where “Dubfunk” started his interest in Music collecting records and following the industry closely.

He was influenced by variety of Jazz & rock artists such as Nina Simone, The Doors, Jim Morrison, Simply Red, Led Zeplin & Nirvana. Starting Early 90’s was the first touch for Dubfunk on the decks, where he played many house parties in his home town, few months later, he started to get involved in all EDM culture rise all around in his home lands.

In the mid 90’s, he began to perform in several big events and local and national clubs for a variety of crowds, as well as he co-owned a club in a tourist region which was one of the EDM dedicated venues in Egypt.

In 2004 alone, Dubfunk became a main resident DJ for Pacha -Sharm El Sheikh, The main Club land of Egypt & one of the franchises of the global Pacha Brand. During this period at Pacha was his first attempt of a real production, when he & his closest friend Omran planned to remix the vocal of Val Kilmer from the movie “Salton Sea”, which have inspired them a lot for decades, among the production, they managed to produce a video clip for the remix extracted from the movie which have attracted loads of impressions from various clubbers worldwide.

Mid 2006, were when he relocated in Switzerland to start his international career as a professional dj & producer. In 2006 yet another escalation for him, signing his first record “Oral Surgeon” by Peter Sky to Odium Records Poland, in addition to major performance in globally such the Gallery night of Turnmills Club, “This Is Cairo” Alongside Sander Kleinenberg & Involved event at Turnmills club which was aimed to raise fund for UNICEF.

The end of 2006 & beginning of 2007 was the first official South American tour upon high demands from Argentina & Brazil, which gathered a very high support from clubbers over South America. Another achievement to happen during 2007 is being officially selected by WMC organization as “ONE OF THE WORLD’S BEST TALENTED DJS”, to perform at Miami Beach Resort during WMC 2007. Followed were starting his new record label Dyami Records & releasing his first “2” singles “Off track” & “Twister Stroke”, which have been hitting hard in several underground clubs & venues worldwide.

His inspiration by many legendary artists had a real affect on his style, mixing all styles in a progressive mood was highly noticed, his long artistic mixes between Electro, Progressive and developing a rising breaks, creating loops & sequences along with his energy and charisma whilst on the decks truly makes him a real performer born to entertain.
