Biography of Bethany Benzur
Bethany Benzur grew up in Madison, Mississippi, where she discovered dance music as a child while listening to the ‘Saturday Night Dance Party’ on her local radio station. She began mixing records five years ago after moving to Atlanta, and soon after began playing gigs at a variety of clubs, establishing the notorious 'Electropop' night with Oliver Dodd at the now-defunct Nomenclature Museum, as well as opening for artists such as The Hacker, Tiga, Legowelt, Tommie Sunshine, $tinkworx and Sendex.
Her live mixing spans a range of styles from Detroit electro, to obscure disco, to the Finnish funk of Bangkok Impact. She claims inspiration from such early Chicago pioneers as Farley 'Jackmaster' Funk and Mickey Oliver, and from the modern electro disco master, I-F.

She's housed many a techno DJ (one with particularly questionable personal hygiene skills) in her quest to enlighten her fair southern city. A talented DJ, Bethany can always get people dancing--and so, without further ado ...
