Michael C represents the new-coming generation of Czech DJs. During his relatively short career he has managed to penetrate into the Czech dance music scene very intensively. He presents himself with energetic, colourful sets which are together with his typical ability to communicate with dancing people the right impulse to dance. He has been gathering his dj experience since the age of 17 when he was playing at local Czech discotheques. Michael soon realized that commercial dance music is not the way he was willing to develop himself. He revealed the beauty of the progressive electronic music and he started to buy his first vinyls. He changed his nick to DJ Michael C and began to entertain people in smaller clubs in East Bohemia.
In October 2004 Michael launched the first Czech trance/progressive radio show Sunshine, in which he live mixes the hottest releases, informs about Czech trance/progressive scene and presents interesting guests. You can listen to his show at Radio Life every Wednesday from 20:00 to 21:00 or on internet at www.radio-life.cz. His show became the most listened special session on Radio Life within one month. This success was proved by the second place in Dance Awards 2004 in the category Best radio show.
He presented his vision of music at the main stage of the party X-Mas in Trance in KC Karlov Benešov, which was the breaking point of his career. He played together with djs like Marc van Linden (D), DJ Pure (Ch) or Laydee Jane. After other successful performances Michael launched regular night re:fresh live! in his hometown Pardubice where he invites top Czech djs and now foreign djs as well (Laydee Jane, Michael Burian, Orbith, Lucca, Shane 54…). His night meets with great popularity and attendance. Since 23. July 2005 is Michael proud to introduce his second resident night which is held in the Czech finest club Duplex in Prague. The night bears the name of Michael’s radio show Sunshine. On the basis of reactions from wide audience and Michael’s typical ability to draw clubber’s attention Michael is kept being invited to play with world dj stars like Cor Fijneman, Mark Norman, ATB, Remy, Armin van Buuren. Michael shows that there is no doubt that he will appear more often next to other stars. His performance with Paul van Dyk at open-air festival Mácháč 2005 proves it clearly. We can see him playing at other open-air festivals like Summer of Love or Hradhouse that both belong to the greatest ones in the Czech Republic.
Michael’s ambitions go further than only playing from turntables. He intensively works on his own music production. He completely reworked hit from Dan Barta – On My Head and he also made a few edits for his own usage. We can soon look forward to his new original production.
Michael’s music repertory is of a wide range. We can find in his sets smooth progressive house/trance tracks, classic uplifting tracks and harder stuff going often even to techno. His performances behind turntables have a very favourable response which was reflected in Dance Awards 2004. Michael was awarded the second best newcomer and the seventh one in DJ of the year. He is a great showman behind the turntables who says that the communication with party people and sharing the energy with them is one of the most important things.
