Biography of Par Grindvik

After being one of the core persons of Stockholm techno community for several years, Pär Grindvik is now hitting the world big time with cutting edge work on labels like Drumcode, Primate and Inside. He is also running his own label Stockholm LTD, releasing some of the most credible work of the international techno scene, with the highly limited No.1 release already considered a true classic.

Together with fellow Swedish producer Hardcell, Par is now working to follow up on the huge Gainlane project (part 1-5), released on Adam Beyer's legendary inprint Drumcode. Par Grindvik and Hardcell are also performing one of the techno scene's most amazing live acts, featuring tons of exclusive, unreleased, tracks that are constantly replaced and modified to give the crowd a fresh experience.

During his childhood, Pär Grindvik was surrounded by music and he started to play the saxophone at the age of eight. He was struck by the force of electronic music in the late 80's through the records that his older brother was spinning. The hunger for more came immediately and it did not take long before Pär himself started to explore the more underground sounds of the electronic music. During his years in the Swedish electronic music scene, he got his education at the Stockholm Music Conservatory. In early '99, he also founded the record store Illegal Stockholm together with Tobias von Hofsten. Following this, Pär decided to make his productions a higher priority and today his work can be heard worldwide.

Comment: Wow. This set grabbed me from the start and wouldnt release its iron grip from me till the very end. My chest still hurts slightly from the overwhelming bass and full on barrage of wonderfully crafted and intellegently produced electronic music contained within, and the bad-ass system i was graced to listen to it on!...enjoy.

Comment: This is a fabulous minimal set with excellent sound quality. In fact, this has probably the highest quality audio of any recent mp3 mix I've listened to. It's hypnotizing with driving bass. It's in-your-face and soothing at the same time. This mix is appropriate for either starting your day or for helping you wind down at the end of one. It's absolutely re-listenable.

Comment: This grindvik set is probably the best of the two. Its slightly more up-tempo, but it goes the same direction towards the end.
The best thing about a Par Grindvik sets is that he never plays a bad tune!
A brilliant set, and worth downloading!

Comment: This is perhaps not quite as sick as the Monuments Live PA, but definitely miles ahead of lots of other Techno. It's no doubt worth checking out! I'm glad to hear sets like this with high audio quality too. Maybe I was too spoiled with the Monuments, if I hadn't heard that first I would probably rate this very very highly. Still, it's an awesome mix. Check it.
