Biography of One Phat DJ

One Phat DJ is also known as Peel Here and Simon Jobling. I have had a long interest in the media -film, TV, music and especially multimedia. From the tender young age of 8, I have been interested in computers and making them do things, whether it was graphically, interactively or just some silly task management application. A lot of my work has disappeared into the archives thanks to reformats, lost diskettes and corrupt CDs but, thanks to the Internet, I have now got a more reliable backup resource.

When I get the chance, I like to spend some time listening to house music and given the chance, mix. I've long been into my dance music and when I got my first mixer in 1999, I was addicted to mixing music together. The majority of the stuff I do is with funky house although it does venture out of the genre occasionally to something that still has an awesome beat or funky bassline.

I am One Phat DJ. I am a DJ from Derby in the UK, now living in Walsall in the West Midlands (just outside Birmingham). I love funky house and mix it up every month for you to download for free. Most the tracks are either new releases or promos so please support the artists and buy the material if you like it. This podcast is mainly to promote good quality funky house but also gives me an outlet for my mixing. If you like the mixes, let me know by emailing podcast [at] one phat dj [dot] co [dot] uk.

Comment: Like this set, found it Funky and upbeat. It ends with an old school song from way back(thinking 90's?), though, not sure of artist or song. Alot of female vocal for most of the first part, think it might be the same girl. Nice beats, keeps you moving without having an epileptic siezure :]

Comment: I loved this set. Very groovy and funky. There's some really nice soulful vocals throughout the mix, which gives it a positive feelgood vibe.
This set is going into my favourites. I'm definitely going to check out some more mixes from One Phat DJ.

In response to c1n1m1n's comment, the last track is Armand Van Helden - The Funk Phenomena from 1996.
