Biography of Marc Houle

Houle started making music around 1985 with the help of Casio keyboards and a Commodore 64 home computer. Now living blocks away from M-nus HQ in Windsor's historic Walkerville Distillery District, minutes from Detroit, Techno is not his chosen lifestyle or or even on the radar at times. His appreciation for Minimal Techno comes more from his love for analog synth sounds. 'Moogs sends shivers up my back,' Houle quickly shoots off. He also admits that the general soundtrack to the video games [computer and arcade] and television of the 1980s also subconsciously impacted his style. Mark Houle and Troy Pierce, who were introduced to one another by Magda, are the incredible Run Stop Restore.

Comment: Sound quality kinda sucks. This mix is not the greatest ever, but decent.. a little more interesting near the end i thought. There are some nice beats in here, i just didnt find the whole mix to be all that amazing.

Comment: Quite cool techno set, some great, freaky beats, but not that amazing to get such a high rating here. Sounds very oldskool, could be something like 4-5 years old and the soundquality sounds like a tape-record. But anyhow a crazy afterhour-10oclock-inthemorning-mix

Comment: Absolutely amazing :) I just love Marc Houle's sound! I am the biggest Magda fan out there...and seeing as Marc produces so much of what Magda plays during her sets it's only natural that I'm just as big a Marc Houle fan. This set is GREAT! Takes you on a musical journey and kinda twists your mind, jsut the way it's meant to be. Hope to hear more of these great mixes from Marc soon!

Comment: a good continuous mix from marc, if you are a fan of the minimal style then there is probably a lot here you will recognise, marc does the underworld style of pa,s where its all his hits blended into one long mix. great stuff.
