Moonboots and Jason Boardman host Sunday night session Aficionado. Aficionado is widely regarded as the only place to go to on a Sunday in Manchester. Here you can catch up with your mates after the weekends partying, or you can chill over a quiet pint or dance your ass off as the night progresses. Moon and Jason have been DJing together at Aficionado for the last 8 years in various venues around the rainy city with the event inspiring numerous imitators to start their own 'Balearic Soirees'. Aficionado's popularity is mainly due to the pairs unique and varied Balearic DJ style and musical knowledge. Aside from Aficionado, Jason Boardman has recorded and remixed as Truant for Paperecordings and Grand Central. Jason has also performed as a DJ in many countries, being resident at seminal clubs such as Yellow, Hard Times and the Hacienda. Moonboots compiled the excellent compilation LP Soundcolours 4 and DJs throughout the country. The Chemical Brothers cite Moon as an early influence and he is widely regarded as one of the most innovative Balearic dj's in the world alongside the legendary Alfredo.

Biography of Jason Boardman
I am a DJ a father and a corporate trainer. I am a man who must where many hats. I have been going out for a considerable length of time during which i have witnessed many trends come and go and many changes in fashion, music and attitudes within modern culture. I have had the good fortune to have a career as a DJ yet remained steadfast avoiding potential banana skins by playing the music i love and cherish. I play what i want,this is anything good though my main loves are dirty dusty disco,Balearic chuggers and electronic oddities. I have been fortunate to have performed as a DJ in many countries India, Venezuela, Romania, Portugal, France, Russia and Ireland to name a few. My current party is called Aficionado which celebrates its 9th birthday in July this year. My partners in this enterprise are Moonboots and Ellis who you can contact through my friends list or simply select the Aficionado icon also in my friends list. We play anything good with the emphasis on found funk, these are records we have sourced from the sixties to the current that suit our taste and our audiences demands. Aficionado is now a monthly event that takes place at Odder in Manchester on the last Sunday of the month. I also Dj at other parties primarily in Manchester though occasionally i do venture South, East and West and occasionally to Europe and beyond. Check my blog and bulletins for updates. My spare time is now spent with my partner and our beautiful daughter though i do get the opportunity to source vintage lifestyle accesories and vinyl and watch MUFC regularly.
