Biography of Jay Pace

Got into dance music during the hardcore 'back in the day' 94 era. Jungle, hardcore and early teenage raving lead to me buying decks and loads of records which would probably now be worth a fortune if they hadn't all been lost or stolen over the years. Tastes moved on, bought better decks and started playing breakbeat and D&B. Had a brief flirtation with trance (sasha, digweed and co.) during its heydey, back when mixmag claimed to be 'relevant' and cash hungry corporations took over clubbing. In reaction to contrived parties with lousy atmosphere, stuck up its arse music & more importantly 'no trainers' policies I got involved in the free party scene, bought yet more decks and helped set up a regular night and a soundsystem. Made loads of music friends, started playing out regularly with the soundsystem and at other people's nights and formed a live act with two friends called Logarhythms. Its been put on hold for a few years but is now due to start up again - live percussion, didgeridoo, decks, FX & 309. Watch out for it. Currently promote a night down in Brighton called Black Box which showcases techno and electronica artists, play regularly around Brighton and across the country during the summer free party & festival season. Most recent big gig was opening the Overkill tent at 2006 Glade Festival
