Biography of Maurizio Vitiello
Born in Naples in October 31st 1970, at age of 25 Maurizio moved to Rome where he's been living since then and working for a big computer firm as an 'IT specialist' (Network & System Management).
“Music has always been present in my life; I can’t talk about a particular period. I bought records, or better, my father bought for me 45 rpm since I was 10-11, from TV films to movies soundtracks…”. “…since the elementary school”, he says, “I made parties in my flat with my young friends, with the records-eater…”.
He studied piano for three years when he was 12, then a passion for guitar came, but he hung it later on to dedicate himself to electronic sonorities. He passed through many music scenes: From disco music to the first 88’-89’s house music and the first raves of the 90’ in Spain and in Rome. Then in Naples with the Angles Of Love, since they have been born as one of the pioneer promoters group in Naples club scene, ‘till nowadays. He begun buying equipment for mixing in 1990 and the year later got his first booking in Rome.
“Around 1991 my favourite group were the Prodigy; they produced supreme old school dj tools as well as Human Resource, Plastikman, Joey Beltram…”
His first “steps” over the dance floors throughout southern Italy have been on the side of renown artists, such as Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola, Sven Vath, Stenny Frannssen, Rino Cerrone, Danilo Vigorito, Steve Rachmad, Ellen Allien, User and many other.
Last year Maurizio got to show his skills @ Enzimi festival 2001, in Rome, with Nepz (Series Rec. Liegi), Rsonant's Crew (Skycon, Ployd and Tluk) and Thomas Brinkman.
In last years he’s been impressed by Underworld, and by classic DJ producer such as Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, The Advent, Speedy J, and of course he appreciates so much Neapolitan artists.
“They impressed, together with the Swedish scene, a brand new sound into techno”
He’s also been established as “resident dj” of the “Loose Club” since 1999. Maurizio is now working behind the scene, in his studios, to make his own tracks, and he’s about to come out soon, be prepared…
