Biography of Natalie C
Natalie C is a hugely popular DJ on the London scene and is a rising star within the international house music community. This is mainly down to her ability to play the right music to the right crowd. 'My sound is never one particular thing. If I'm playing to a room of say 150 people, I'll play intimate music. On the other hand if a large crowd of crazed clubbers are demanding to be moved, that's what I'll do'.
With over ten years of DJing experience under her belt it's hardly surprising that her blistering fusion of underground house and tech-funk sets dancefloors on fire.
To date she has supported among others Robert Owens, Terry Francis, Asad Rizvi and Dave Mothersole and entertained crowds at large venues such as Turnmills, The Rocket, Egg, The Sanctuary, and The Key; also clubs and events in Miami (WMC), Jakarta, Bali, Vienna, Ibiza, France and Bulgaria. Currently she's a regular on the London underground circuit at parties like Kerfuffle, Wiggle and Peg.
'Open House' is Natalie’s popular web show on pulseradio.net which has been rocking the binary waves since 2000. With the slogan 'Opening up house music' the show reflects Natalie’s unique and much-loved sound. Now into it's fifth year it has an impressive back catalogue of guest DJs including: Nils Hess, Rob Mello, Giddeon Jackson, James Ruskin, Mark Broom, DJ Linus, Liz Edwards and Grant Dell with many more lined up for the future.
As if that isn't enough Natalie writes record reviews, and has also gained much exposure from DJ competitions including iDJ mag and ITV's 'The Joy of Decks'.
From a young age Natalie has spent her life involved in music and it was only a matter of time before she was to take things further. Inspired by the underground electronic music movements of the late 80s and early 90s she started collecting records, began mixing in 1995 and has since never looked back.
After making numerous appearances at local gigs from 1995 Natalie's skills first became noticed back in 2000 when she began regular appearances at the early 'Teethout' parties in Kent. After crossing the paths of many other big players on the scene things grew from there. 'These parties were my first exposure to the hugely expanding tech-house scene. Up until then I'd been playing mostly funky and detroit techno.'
These day's you're more likely to hear quirky tech and underground house but don't be fooled, there's always a fresh surprise up her sleeve.
