Biography of DJ Raize

A Product of the Jersey suburbs, DJ RaiZe was always a fan of the DJs who spun great music. His earlier influences include Funk Master Flex, DJ Enuff, and the Legendary DJ Red Alert. With his humble beginnings in nightlife, he organized and promoted parties for his friends in his native New Jersey and his close ties in Queens and Brooklyn. DJ RaiZe was early exposed to the clubs. In 1997, DJ RaiZe picked up a pair of his own Technics and started blazing the clubs at a young age.

While attending Rutgers University in New Brunswick, RaiZe joined the ranks of Rutgers two premier radio stations WRSU 88.7 and 90.3 The Core. The Thursday night radio show, 'The Abstract Radio Show,' which aired on WRSU, quickly became a college favorite as many listeners from the area called in to request their favorite tunes. Because he was high in demand, DJ RaiZe joined the Heavy Hitters record pool which gave him access to the newest and hottest joints that kept the crowds pleased. His experience with the Heavy Hitters allowed him to make label contacts as well as meet artists who would aid in his Mixtape ventures.

Along with the college parties DJ RaiZe was called upon to DJ; RaiZe held down a residency at the 'Legendary' Tunnel in 2001. The next year, he found himself spinning in New York's premier superclub Exit. As a staple in the New York City club scene, DJ Raize expanded his reach and found his way into Philadelphia and Atlanta, djing various events including 2002's Breaklanta and Various Hot Import Nights showcases. Being constantly in and out of the clubs, Nightlife was an experience that would allow RaiZe to keep the crowd moving until the late hours.

After graduation, DJ RaiZe found himself transplanted in Bushwick, Brooklyn where he continued DJing various clubs and worked during the day at Sony Music Entertainment as a copyright coordinator. Never one to squander opportunity, RaiZe also worked as a marketing representative for the Fader Academic Research Marketing (FARM) Team. As a FARM Rep, DJ RaiZe was able to network with various music industry insiders and eventually met his future partner DJ Bri-G.

In 2005, DJ RaiZe & Bri-G formed 'The UNbassadors.' After planning their joint debut, DJ RaiZe along with Bri-G, released 'The Spring Edition Mixtape' hosted by Marques Houston. This mixtape, which showcased the talents of DJ RaiZe, was nominated for the Best R&B Mixtape by the Southern Entertainment Awards (www.southernentawards.com). During the summer, the dynamic duo unleashed the Island Fever series, which offered 160 classic reggae gems on two CDs. The Island Fever series has since grown to include the rapidly growing Reggaeton genre and looks to make a mark in the mixtape scene. Also, look out for the 1 Hit Wonders series, where we take it back and expose these artists to the masses. With their growing position in the mixtape and Nightlife scene, DJ RaiZe and The Unbassadors are poised to make an impact in the clubs and in the streets.
