Biography of Hardfloor

Oliver Bonzio and Ramon Zenker are the Düsseldorf duo behind Hardfloor. Their ground-breaking single 'Accperience' from Sven Väth's Harthouse label made their name instantly recognisable to European clubbers. Hardfloor's obsession with the TB-303 (Acid Box) was so obvious on their debut album 'TB Resuscitation', that by 1993, their huge impact on the techno/house scene had revided the use of TB-303 / acid sound. Each new album release -to date 'Respect' and 'Home Run'- has seen a slights change in their musical style, and with recent singles they have been challenging their own interpretation of the slow beat / hip hop sound.

(Taken from the booklet of 'Ghost In The Shell', a Playstation game techno soundtrack compilation.) Besides Hardfloor Ramon was involved in so many many projects and productions from commercial (Belini, Paffendorf, Interactive, Fragma) to underground, we're afraid none have a complete overview about that including himself.

Comment: This file was a little disappointing, but in the end worth a download. I was excited to download it, but that excitement was cut short by the 4 minutes (approximately) of what I assume was an interview in the beginning. I would have enjoyed that part, but it was in German and my knowledge of of that language is limited to "good morning, day, and night". After that took the wind out of my sails it took a while for the music to grab me and get me grooving. But it did, and by the time it stops at the 43-something minute mark I was fully into it and ready for another 20-30 minutes - and it seems like the show continued, but the files just fades out. The sound isn't the greatest, but it's decent enough for repeat listens.

All in all, if you're a fan of the acid-y goodness of Hardfloor I would recommend this.

Comment: I tend to agree with the previous comment made about this download, the sound quality isn't the greatest and there set does end suddenly. All in all there are better Hardfloor downloads out there but if you can't find them then this will keep you going until you do.
