Biography of DJ Sketch

I first started listening to music properly in 1993, I`ve always loved music but started listening to pirate stations shuch as shakedown fm, kool fm, freek fm.

I started to buy the event tape packs that would come out eg sun city, garage nation, exposure, the music scene in the uk was massive back the . this really gotme interested in DJ-in. id never really heard DJs beat mixin or scratchin like this before so i was very keen to start buyin records with a hope that i would get a set of turntables, my first set of turntables were a set of jvc`s, 1 had a pitch the other one didn t ! ( hard times ) i started to collect more records and after a few more months of practicing night and day i got pretty good on them but i knew i had to have a industry standard set of turntables. Roughly 6 months later i got a set of 1210s and have never looked back. This has brought me to be the dj that i am today.

Radio days.....

i started dj in on pirate radio in 1999, the first station i played on was 'flava fm' i played on there with 2 other djs. we were pushing 4x4 and old skool garage this lasted another year and then we split and there was just two of us dj in our wednesday show.then we met two mcs (smilee dan and mc jz) we formed a group called mindblowers this is where we started to showcase grime music on our show for the first time hence we were then playing two shows a week unfortunately this only lasted 6 months due to unforseen circumstances in 2003 i managed to get myself a set on temptation fm 101.5 and have been playing ever since.

the next step....

using technology of the www to be able to play my music to the world, i am looking for a club residency
