Biography of Xflo:w
Music expresses those things, which cannot be told but whereat it is impossible to remain silent about.
Victor Hugo
This saying touches me in the most different ways: it let me discover house music, rock with tribal, chill by ambient and downbeat tunes. It showed me how to experiment with techno and delights me with break beats every time in a new way.
Today, my style, spoken from a photographer's point of view, is a kind of wide-angle soundscape, is a fusion of new and old, a variation-rich vivid choice of surgically precise beats, sleek graving vocals and floating harmonies combined with shivering industrial sounds, squelching tribal grooves, underlined by funky house rhythms, rocking broken beats and wild African percussions.
My DJ sets are a blaze of emotional and eclectic grooves, similar to a supersonic flight through a cloud hole and lightning shuffled thunder storm into the sunset, a furnace of music and I am the stoker.
The Dj set: my kind of musical interaction, without static structures, for pleasure and fun in music. portrait
portrait A part of my work is for Berlin and its club scene. Over here I am setting new impulses and bring those innovations to the people. The ways to express myself vary from international regular DJ appearances (Berlin, Cape Town, Eastern Europe, ...) to radio shows (former Kiss 99 FM, OKB, masMusic) and club scene journalism (Resident Advisor, 365Mag, ...). In this way, I accompanied Berlin gigs of comrades-in-arms like legendary Nick Warren (UK, Way out West), Deep Dish (US, Yoshitoshi), Anthony Pappa (AU, EQ Grey), DJs Jondi & Spesh (US, Looq & Spundae), Andry Nalin (DE, Nalin & Kane) and even James Holden (UK, Border Community).
»I had no chance to escape, I got stuck in the xflo:w groove...«

Beside those activities I always want to discover the World, so I can look back now on historical landmarks in South Africa, Argentina, Brazil, Caribbean or the USA. Locations in Cape Town, Jo'burg, Buenos Aires, Recife or Phillipsburg experienced how to rock with the sound of xflo:w. Of course good old Europe brought to me great moments as well, whether it has been Copenhagen, Prague, Budapest or Vilnius.
Together, with my DJ partner Peer Benary and by our deep progressive electro style, I turn back- to be forward and reverse. We two DJs radio on the same frequency, but still we are entirely different. As one we pull out all the stops to take the party people with us on a ride through progressive deep tribal tech funk to bring them that kicking !#@$%Yeeaaah!#@$% feeling.
