Biography of DJ Disciple

To try and categorise Disciple is pointless, such is his diverse talent. Happily segueing between uplifting soulful disco and percussive tribal beats, Disciple is a classicly schooled NYC DJ, learning and mastering his trade long before the trend for pigeoholes had stifled creatvity.

In his own words; 'They say I am one of New Yorks more influential players on the underground scene. An eclectic mindset saves me from stagnancy.'

Disciple is head honcho of seminal NYC imprint Catch22 Recordings, home of artists such as DJ Dove ('I'm touched', licensed to Slip N Slide), Dawn Tallman and Black And White Brothers ('Put Your Hands Up'). Disciple himself has been responsible for such important house moments as 'It's Easy' and 'You', both of which were tracks from his debut artist album 'My True Colours', declared 'Essential' by Billboard magazine and 'Sheer unadulterated plaesure' by Muzik. High praise indeed.

'My True Colours' launched Disciple onto the global house
scene, with an immediate world tour arranged in conjunction. Any premier league DJ will tell you that even within the confines of house music, each country or territory has their own subtle variations on what they like to hear, and this knowledge coupled with his immense versatility has led to Disciple holding residencies all over the world. He has an intimate knowledge of exactly how to move each crowd he plays to, something sorely lacking in a lot of other DJ's today. Disciple isn't satisfied unless the crowd is dancing well past closing time and refusing to leave.
