Biography of Chris Littlewood

Chris got his decks around ’98, playing a mix of hip hop, electro and breaks before settling down with a love for techno a year or so later. Around the same time he started mucking about with hardware synths and sequencers, and quickly began writing material for live sets to be played out at techno nights in the city.

Having played at most of the techno clubs in the city since then, and now residing at his Hooked club nights at Digital in Newcastle - set up with fellow resident Andy Gordon, to try and push a sound they were both passionate about and felt was under represented in Newcastle: techno - Chris has mixed and played live alongside many of the industry’s big hitters, including Jeff Mills, Ben Sims, Surgeon, Cari Lekebusch, Dave Angel, Trevor Rockcliffe, Billy Nasty, Phil Kieron, Oliver Ho, Joris Voorn, Vince Watson, British Murder Boys and Christian Smith amongst others; becoming an integral part of the techno and electronic music scene in Newcastle, where he currently runs record shop Disruptive Vinyl - supplying the regions techno and electro DJs with their vinyl fix; runs the annual Newcastle Community Green Festival Dance Stage - featuring 100% homegrown live acts and DJs; and is part of the Testin Out/Test label group.

Chris is currently working on material for a new live set, as well as releases on Testin Out and Test, and his own label project kicking off later this year.
