Biography of Vanja S-Cream
1975 Vanja Tadic a.k.a. Vanja S-Cream was born in the city of Sarajevo. Back in 1988, by accident he took a role of Light Jay in the local discotheque, assisting his DJ friend on his acts where he kept annoying his friend about song and record names. Same year he finds his life style in DJ-ing and began collecting records. Some of his first Vinyl's which he still possesses, and not mentioning the ones that got destroyed during war, are: Stevie V - Dirty Cash Remix, Percussions and Additional Production by David Morales, Inner City - Good Life and Big Fun produced by Kevin 'Master Reese' Saunderson, Tone Loc - Wild Thing and Funky Cold Medina, LL Cool J - I Need Love, RUN DMC - Mary Mary, Soul II Soul - Back To Life...
He started working in clubs, such as 'Hollywood' - Split, 'Grotta' - Makarska, soon becoming the youngest DJ in Ex -Yugoslavia. Between 1989 - 1990, he became resident DJ of Club 'Boa' in Sarajevo, and starts presenting his mixes in Club 'Europe' - Sarajevo and 'Mladost' - Jahorina, at the young age of 14 years, under the name DJ M.C. Vanja Ice S-Cream. He played the records of artists like: Super D.J. Dmitry from Dee Lite - Groove Is In The Heart, Fat Boy Slim a.k.a Beats International - Dub be Good To Me, Crystal Waters - Gipsy Woman, KLF, Technotronic and many more. In 1991 he became the member of the D.M.C. (Disco Mix Club) in London. In the course of the same year, he becomes the leader of the group 'Funky Beat' and records his first Hip-Hop demo track. He began working for the 'Stella' Club, and organizes his first all-night sessions, 'Disco Roller-Skate Night', 'Freestyle Dance Competition'...
Playing at the time all the hot tunes like: Westbam - I cant stop, Interactive - Who Is Elvis , SL2 - DJ's Take Control and Way My Brain, Bizarre Inc. - Playing With Knives and Such A Feeling, Moby - Go, Rozalla - Everybody's Free, The Hypnotist - This Is My House, Prodigy - Charly, Carl Cox - I Want You, Frankie Knuckles - Your Love, Subsonic 2 - Addicted To Music, Cookie Watkins - I'm Attracted To You, and other dance hits from artists like: Afrika Bambaataa, C-C Music Factory, Incognito, La Tour, 2 In A Room...
In 1992. the war prevents him to compete in the D.M.C. of DJ's in Kranj -Slovenia, and he cancels his tours around other cities in Ex-Yugoslavia. While Sarajevo burns, Club 'Stella' is bunt down, along with 500 LP's, and 200 of Vanja's Maxi Single's. Nevertheless, his enthusiasm for music kept him going. He produced 3 singles: 'Wolf's', 'Not Like That' and 'Salvation Is In Love', that was performed on the 'Miss Surrounded Sarajevo beauty pageant' contest in 1992, which was an Inspiration for Bono Vox, to make together with Pavarotti and U2 the song 'Miss Sarajevo'.
During The War Siege, from 1992 to 1996 he steps out as a DJ and organizes the first Techno and House events in clubs 'UN', 'Sloga', 'Simpson's', 'Cocktail' and 'New Years Eve' Party In Cinema 'Radnik' in Sarajevo 1994/1995. From 1998, besides his appearances in clubs, he organized themed events under the name 'Surreal Party's', amongst which are: Club 21, Trance For Peace, Bajram Party, 1. May Show, That's It, Sarajevo Electronic City, Sexotic Dance Studio...
In 2003 he celebrated his 15th year work anniversary, presenting his CD 'In My House 2' and his remix, 'Retro '88 - '03'. He organizes an Electronic Music Festival with featured only Bosnian DJ's - 'Music United BiH'. As he continued spinning in the clubs, he also worked with young DJ's in DJ workshops. In 2004, Vanja played with David Morales and Sven Vath. Afterwards, he registered an organization under the name 'DISC-TEC'. He produces a remix of the Dino Dvornik song 'You're in my mind 2004'.
In 2005 he produces him promo CD '0005' and performs in Croatia, Germany as in cities of Bihac, Banja Luka, Zenica, Prijedor, Doboj and Kozarac in BiH. Currently he's working on National Television as DJ and Host in 'DJ Party' music show every Friday night. When performing on stage, Vanja prefers House music with variations of Retro, Latino, Tribal, and Electro, connecting it with Afro-Drum samples and a positive bass line. With this powerful combination, he makes his style recognizable, carrying the name 'Full Throttle House'.
