Biography of Zero
It may seem so that zero is just a number holding no value. This may be true if you are into math and calculating for a living. But, if you're into Croatian clubbing scene, there's no calculating about musical values brought in by Zagreb's ascending talent Jan Kincl, DJ and producer also knows as Zero. After beeing exposed to The Prodigy 'Expirience' and electronic music that was played in clubs in Zagreb, Jan started buying records and soon swifty retorted in vogue trends with his own perception of electronic dance music and DJing stlye . His first engagement as a DJ was in club Crossroads in Malinska where he played his first dj set for his 15th birthday. The crowd was ecstatic by his virtue of music selecting and dj skills so that the promotor decided to have him hold a summer residency, which is ongoing since. Jan's love for music and passion for record collecting went hand in hand with his vanguard mindset. While exploring records and their effects on the dancefloor he allways finds himself experimenting and pushing expectations a bit further.
Not wanting to get labeled strictly as a techno DJ, he pushed himself to investigate various genres of todays electronic music. At first in clubs, and a while later with his own music.
Three years after his first DJ set in Crossroads, he gets spoted by a promotor for OTV club in Zagreb where he, after performing, gets offered a residency. OTV club, now named Bogaloo, served Jan in multiple ways, as a platform offered to fill the necessity of obtaining adequate expirience by performing with the worlds most prominent DJ's, and as an ability to relearn and elevate his knowlage on how to musically communicate with the crowd, a process Jan has been a part of on a regulas basis since the beginning of his residency. After that, things rapidly started to happen, like bookings for Slovenia, Serbia and Bosnia, as well as almost every festival and club in Croatia.
Today, most of his time Jan spends in the studio, working on new projects, ideas and future releases. Some of them can be described as dancefloor techno, while others fall into the cathegory of experimental electronica.
Recently he expanded his DJing concept with 'decks and effects' performances, and is finishing materials for a live act show.
