Biography of Boosta
After years and years of piano studies (classical training at Turins Conservatorio, plus lessons from jazz teachers) and after a career as a live player started at the age of fourteen, in 1996 together with two adventurous mates he becomes the founder of Subsonica, a group that gathered four studio lps (all gone platinum), a double live album (summing up a notable cv of more than 500 live sets in front a global audience of 450,000 people) and won a long list of prizes, including a couple of MTV European Awards as Best Italian Act.
But thats just a part of the story.
In year 2003 weve got his solo project Iconoclash, a fierce and cutting-edge reinterpretation of italodisco classics featuring some of the original interpreters (as Gazebo, P.Lion, Garbo, Righeira and many others). In the meantime, he gets extra-skilled with the with the turntables and the secrets of the dancefloor. As a remixer, he reconstructs many major Italian acts (Vasco Rossi, Morgan, Cristina Donà) and international acts (Placebo, Beastie Boys, Client, Jentina, Depeche Mode, Skin have asked for his duties). As a dj, he rocks with a rising and tremendous success all major Italian clubs (no exceptions, please check), he gets in front of a crowd of a million people at Zurichs Street Parade, he faces Ibizas dancefloors with a great response, exploring territories that start from tech-house and reach sci-fi electro, passing through breakbeat patterns. His dance mastery is testified by a bunch of 12: the first one being released by EMI (Crash, immediately well received by critics and public), the following edited by Mantra (The Boss, Boostology EP) who asked Boosta for more (still two new 12 are set to be released til the end of 2006, Dance Is Dead, Jump In A Silk Black Flow).
If thats not enough (it could be, but its not), Boosta has also tested his writing skills. The collection of short stories Dianablu was followed by the thrilling Unora e mezza (both edited by major Italian publischer Baldini&Castoldi), the latter one being optioned as screen-play for a movie which is about to be shot. A third novel is already in the making.
