Biography of JoolsMF
My name’s JoolsMF (Jools to my friends), and i'm a music making dood from North London. I'm into mash-ups, mixing/remixing and I also make my own tunes too.
I got into making music after buying a Tascam 4-track recorder and a drum machine. During the sixth form I did a lot of stuff on my own but also recorded loads of tunes as 'The Contraband”, with Alex Chadwick (aka Jet Set Willy), Richard Godwin and a few other guys. If you could categorise the style, it was a bit like The Beta Band or Beck (not nearly as good though!). These early recordings got me hooked on making music and i've been doing it even since.
When I went to uni I continued to make tunes but focused mainly on electronic music. After graduating I continued to make music occasionally but it was only when I discovered the joys of Acid Pro that my interest in electronic/loop based music was reignited. Ever since hearing my first Beastie Boys track many years ago, I’d been interested in sampling so finding this software was a great discovery. Since then i've been making mixes and bootlegs on a regular basis and I decided to set up this website to share my tunes with the world.
I also DJ and make original music as well.
