Biography of Banyek

András Hargitai was born in 1984 in Budapest, Hungary. He still lives there. He started dj-ing when he was 17 years old, mostly spinning his own music and some idm/drillnbass/ambient tracks week after week at Radio Tilos which is the oldest and biggest non-profit radio station in Hungary. He played dj-sets at 6 radio stations so far, including the biggest state financed radio station Radio Petofi, and at more than 20 venues including the Sónar festival in 2004. In 2005, he founded the independent electronica label Bitlab Records with his mate Cooler (Chi Recordings/U-Cover), and maintains it succesfully with him since then, releasing his music and other talented artists' works.

In 2005 he became interested in the growing netaudio scene and started playing netaudio tracks and did a mix for Zerinnerung as well. He also writes articles, these are mostly reviews and interviews or discussions with well-known producers.
