Biography of Victoria Rebeca
ARTICLE WRITTEN BY MAARTEN PARTIK /she's saavy skills of blending pumped-up funky electro, fierce progressive, and rockin tech house, is making her a goodwill music ambassador who keeps the crowds dancing for joy from Slovenia to Holland. Born in Cakovec, Croatia she first became interested in becoming a DJ while living in Vienna, Austria. In the early part of 2003 she got the opportunity to work with DJ Sunny Sava who was a resident at the famous Camera Club, located in the city centre. There, she played double sets with him at several festivals and events all around Vienna. This included playing at The Braintribe -- a 3-days event that featured 31 international DJs spinning trance-techno-house and groove music. She also played at La Gorda, a 9-days festival that included a variety of creative workshops centered around art, music, and yoga. In 2005, she moved to Slovenia to join a group of talented DJs, working under the name Underground Connections. She says with a smile ?€œI love the country. It has mountains and seaside and it is very small,?€? with 2 million people. Currently Viktoria works with Manel, who hosts the popular Midhouse-show on Radio Pomar in Barcelona, Spain. The Future Looking ahead, Viktoria wish to ?€œfully express myself as an artist.?€? As a result, she plans to focus more and more on production. During the weekdays, she spends time working on music with Croatian DJ and producer Examine, and DJ Slider from Slovenia. She says her heros include ?€œJohn Dahlback, Eric Prydz, Luke Dzierzek, Mync Project, Jon Gurd, Deepgroove, Chris Lake, Mark Knight, Robbie Rivera, Mike Monday, Paul Harris, and Tocadisco.?€? Viktoria?€™s long-term goals include expanding her touring beyond Europe. Musically, she wants to become a successful producer, and start her own record label. Designing her own small music studio will also be instrumental in helping her reach these goals. Since music involves 90 percent of her daily communication, its easy to see how Viktoria's talent, and determination will help her fulfill these goals. And looking ahead, indeed the world will be a brighter place as a result
