Biography of Litmus0001
Description:
litmus0001 is 6 string bassist/producer Jonathan Ewald. Ambient soundscapes are improvised and recorded as performed in real time thru use of non-traditional playing techniques, multiple delays, loops and effects. Some pieces stand alone as recorded. Others are sampled and used with programmed rhythms and synths, guitars, and prepared 4 string bass to compose ambient drone downtempo neo-psychedelic organo-electronic post-/avant-/anti-rock pieces. :::: 'information is not knowledge; knowledge is not wisdom; wisdom is not truth; truth is not beauty; beauty is not love; love is not music... Music is THE BEST' --- Frank Zappa ('Packard Goose' from Joe's Garage)::::
History:
After contributing to bands in Cincinnati and Nashville, Jonathan Ewald removed himself from the better part of civilization and moved to the high desert. Now, he has returned back east, back to civilization and people, where he plans to further explore live performance of ambient soundscapes as well as constructions of sonic explorations. litmus0001 is a project to perform and record various sonic research experiments utilizing technology and creative non-traditional technique to generate ambient drone soundscapes.
