Biography of DJ Cliffraves

I started playing with a record player in 1988 my first record i ever bought was cold cut's bits n pieces I was moving that record back and forward using certain samples of the record creating a Sound which is called scratching Gradually i started making more patterns with my record Player using various bits of music from a record Which i then kept practising making patterns and also started to move the volume faders up and down at various degree Creating my own sounds learning hand movements Then i started mixing with 2 record players Using 2 records mixing them together, beat mixing and record scratching Combination on the brilliant Instrument out the Turntables.

I was listening to tim westwoods hiphop shows and pete tong, on radio 1 then i started to listen to wear fm which was playing all the underground music from 1991 which had jungle hard times show with some top drum and bass dj's and the crimewatch crew , bucket street massive if anyone remembers. also i listened to the monday show with dj yoz and dj spen also listend to all shows with hophop hardcore drum and bass even hardcore techno hard house trance from 1991-1994 dj huey , dj smoove, dj spen , etc etc all top dj's of the underground scene :) and from listen to them it got me well into djing but then wear fm closed down in 1994 all the top dj's and that got axed and there shows stopped running and the station changed it's name and started playing commercial music. so from then on it started to get all the underground music myself and keep the vibes going etc and i wanted to get performing in public i was so nervouse the first time.

I did my first performance at redcar cleveland college in 1994 when i was record scratching and also doing a new technique of not just fader and scratching actually using the stylus itself to create music from the turntable just from gently scratching across the vinyl at various degree like violin sounds i was creating i did this as i heard on some radio 2 show listening to someone doing it and it sounded good and experimental show etc. and from then onwards it got me well into djing with all different styles of music. i started to listen to viva a german music channel as that was playing happy hardcore video's and techno video's etc like blumchen etc and watching the mayday raves and love parades from 1997 onwards watching takkyu ishino, DJ westbam, dj hell, dj sven vath, dr motte, carl cox, paul; van dyke etc , made me get into buying loads of techno records also i was getting happy hardcore etc from listening to dream fm tapes i wanted to mix that also. and listening to jeff mills, made me get more into techno vinyl's that where banging dance floor and even minimalist techno that relaxes your mind. then i goto into trance hard house and did some djing at oscars niteclub in eston uk spinning some techno and happy hardcore, and then the sugarshack box office in middlesbrough spinned some Trance Hard house, and then i did even bigger club in sheffield the republic spinned trance hard house. then i some how got into mixing makina and banging new style hardcore cos i liked the sounds of them :). 3rd september 2005 Dj'd at factoriasonora newcastle spinning makina hardcore with dj dynamite, dj spuddy & sparkey.

Getting few mixes accepted on www.happyhardcore.com / www.di.fm hardcore channel radio i do them special sets :)
that gives me name a big boost! DJ Cliffraves!
