What got you involved with Hardcore?
I started out with techno, and 90's dance music. This definately brought me into the electronica music scene early in life. From there I picked up speedcore, happy hardcore, jungle, acid techno, etc etc...
Hardcore is my way of release from agression and frustrations. It can be some of the best written electronic music, and is definately the best to dance to.
Tell us about your DJing career to date.
I started producing music on my computer in 1999, and picked up djing shortly after in 2001.
My goals are to keep learning as a producer, and play at shows whenever the opourtunity arises.
What was the most memorable event you have DJed at?
I enjoyed playing 10-20 min sets between bands the most at punk rock shows. Being hated that much really humbles you.
What makes you different?
I like to be versatile in the forms of music that I play. Since hardcore isn't really alive anymore, I stay in the djing scene by playing other styles such as techno, urban, 90's dance, in order to keep getting shows. When hardcore comes around again, I will be there waiting with my rekkids.
What do you plan for the future?
I am putting all my efforts into keeping hardcore alive. We have to reintroduce hardcore back into the mainstream, in order to get it accepted again as a style of music.
Hardcore to Gabber, Scratching to Juggling, Apocalypse will not dissapoint when it comes to keeping the crowd going absolutely nuts. High energy hardcore beats with exceptional mixing talent.
Apocalypse has played a large role in keeping the underground styles of electronica alive in the Western parts of Canada. He has helped put on many productions that were split shows between bands and DJs, in and effort to keep the underground sound going. 2006 and onward is looking very promising for new talent and new shows. Check with Revolution 909 Records for more info on projects in the West.
