Biography of DJ EXT

Name: Adam

Genre: Hardcoretechno, Gabber

Home City: Ottawa, Ontario

Influences: Steve Neon, Jorah Kai, Chosen Few, Omar Santana, Lenny Dee

What got you involved with Hardcore?
My brother got me interested in electronic music around ‘92 when he started bringing home mix tapes his friends had made. I gradually became more involved in the music and started going to raves. Then in January 2000 I decided I absolutely had to start spinning because I loved the music so much and hardcore was the obvious first choice. No other music packs as much energy and power into it's sound.

Tell us about your DJing career to date.
My first live appearance was at Ground Zero, in April of 2001 in Ottawa. It was an amazing experience, and everyone seemed to love the oldschool gabber I played that night. I played a mega-canada-day-blowout-cottage party that summer, and again received a lot of praise for the sound I was introducing to Ottawa. Since then my record collection has gotten out of control, and is somewhere in the 2000 titles range. Records are my addiction.

What was the most memorable event you have DJed at?
Deelight 45 in Ottawa, February 2002. This party was thrown together at the last minute, with a dj line-up of 45 dj's! It was a confusing night, but with a wicked virgin venue and an 'UNBELIEVABLE' sound system in the main room which I got to break in as the opening dj!

What makes you different?
My passion, and dedication to the music. I love it, and I do it for the pure enjoyment of making people dance, and seeing the faces people make as they are introduced to the HARDCORE SOUND!

What do you plan for the future?
Spending some time on production, and playing more events to expose people to the REAL hardcore sound.
