Some music defies real description and the music of Heimir Björgúlfsson's is one of them. Clear yet mysterious, full yet transparent, hermetic yet open. And I could go on for a while. A true gem, made with utmost concentration, very well produced, with great respect for time and silence. Absolutely a must for anyone into contemporary electronic music
Björgúlfsson is a memeber of stilluppsteypa a trio from iceland wich consists of heimir björgúlfsson, sigtryggur berg sigmarsson and helgi thorsson. since 1992 they experience in the analogue as well as electronic sound territories, starting in turning the studio into an instrument. their apearances range from live visual / audio performances to installations ins sweden and germany or releases on fire inc., staalplaat and meme. a discernable element is the preference for mimimalist structures and the expansion of single sounds. have you ever been gnawing at a crispbread? reduce your speed, listen closely und you will get the idea!
