Biography of Peter Worth

Peter Worth, a professional DJ in Key West, Fla.
Born in Glasgow Scotland in 1981, and came to America in 1999 with nothing but a box of LPs and $600 – half of which he spent taking a cab ride to Key West.

First off, he landed a job at a fantastic club called WAX, where he ended up working for four years. he also started to organize his own parties, usually with his partner in crime Jeffrey Dunaway.

Calling themselves Wodu Productions, Jeff and Peter held some ferocious events at such locations as a 120-plus capacity boat, oceanfront mansions, Irish pubs, otherworldly art installations, and even Ernest Hemingway’s house!

As a DJ in a tourist town he quickly learned how to balance the more accessible side of house music with the twisted material that he loves. His resulting style is well-paced, with many hands-in-the-air moments. He places huge emphasis on well-programmed mixes, as he feel this is the key to shaping a solid, well-rounded night of smooth lounge house and ballistic, marching techno.

To make it all happen, he uses vinyl, CDs, effects units, and the Traktor DJ Studio. Lately he turned to the Traktor for all his DJing and recording needs. Nowadays, when he plays out, he does so entirely from his laptop, a 15” Apple Powerbook G4, my idea of a true “plug and play” setup. I still purchase essential vinyl and own around 2000 vinyl records.
