[in]anace (real name: Dirk Murschall) is an on the fly Digital Jockey. He chooses out of a huge repertoire of electronic music with no specific style directions. House and ambient music are preferred but often many other styles and tunes are used in his sets. Depending on his mood and the environment his sets are for exploring acoustic landscapes as well as for dancing feets off and sometimes both of it. Some say that because of his special way of selecting and mixing music he is telling stories.

He concentrates on music released on the internet on so called netlabels. He runs his own netlabel Subsource (http://www.subsource.de) for ambient and experimental electronic music and DJ sets since 1999. From 2001 on he is releasing some of his DJ sets exclusively on the internet for free download.

Since the invention of the Traktor DJ (http://www.traktor-dj.com) software he is a great fan of this tool and plays every set using it and maybe that’s why he never learned mixing using turntables. In the past there was a time were [in]anace created his own tracks too also with no specific styles. He released this tracks on the netlabels Subsource, 2063music (http://www.2063music.de), Octacone (http://www.octagone.net) and Nubiproof (http://www.nubiproof.net) and on vinyl at RestRoom Records (http://www.r-r-r.org). But making music takes a lot of time and while changing his job [in]anace could’t effort enough time for own music anymore. So nowadays [in]anace is a pure laptop DJ.

Dirk Murschall was born in Hannover in 1977. He became a professional in telecommunication technologies and today he works as a webmaster for a big company in Nürnberg. [in]anace and Subsource are free time projects for living and experiencing his great interest in electronic music. Subsource became a respectable place for free electronic music on the web and [in]anace playes in bars and living culture places around Nürnberg and on some bigger clubs in Germany and Switzerland.
