MPIII.com features downloads of live sets and mix sets posted by our members. These live sets and mix sets are posted in appreciation for the artists that created them. You will find biographies, images and links for all the artists featured on the site. This helps in promoting the people that create the music which we love. MPIII.com takes much pride in being a site rich with information and knowledge. Biography of Dylan Garret
Hi. Dylan Garret, part-time DJ, part-time musician, part-time promoter, full-time vagabond extraordinaire, who still makes imitation-designer handbags in a basement on the Bowery in NYC to “keep it real”. I help run a little DJ/music/promotions collective called Bridge & Causeway, which you probably already know, seeing as it’s spammed all over this goddamned page. I mostly use MySpace for music, but if you just found me ruggedly charming and intriguing enough to want know personally, well hell, I’m free this Saturday. In the meantime, enjoy all the free music and event announcements.
Also, as it usually goes without saying these days, if you want to add me, please do send a message or something even remotely personal to make the point, if I don’t know you yet. I’d hate to go internet-elitist on you all, but I don’t need 7000 contacts of progressive-experimentalist-power-progressive-punkcore-funk bands from Hialeah (on a progressive tip, of course) to feel worthwhile. I love networking with other music-minded folks, but if you’re just mass-adding to up your numbers, as Eddie Kendricks said best, keep on truckin’, baby.

To make up for my hiatus in posting proper mixes, here’s a quickie live recording from the regular Friday night gig at Shebeen in NYC (at least when I’m playing; the night is regularly hosted by Turntables On The Hudson’s resident downtempo guru, Raeo). A little over 30 minutes long, all vinyl, not polished or planned in the least, recorded on a nearly-broken MiniDisc that may just have been the first MD ever constructed with crude tools by cavemen beatmakers from times long gone.
Mostly downtempo electronica, underground and independent hip-hop, that kinda stuff. I’ve gotten into a bit of a thing lately, for Friday’s gig, of mixing hip-hop vocals with other electronica, as you might notice. Didn’t master this or anything, it’s live, except a little splice at the end to make the last track the last track. All vinyl, just recorded off a house mixer, which was messed up anyway on account of Wednesday night’s rastas who smoke too much weed and drip wax into the crossfader (or so I’m told).
Either way, hope this mini-set chills out many of your late-night hours.
