Biography of Future Prophet

About Future Prophet:

Future Prophet, Co-Founder of Sit N Spin Productions, is often known for his diverse track selection and silky smooth blends. Never conforming to any particular 'sub-genre,' he strives to take the listener on a ride that covers all facets of Drum N Bass. From light to dark, his progressive style of mixing will leave you on the dancefloor begging for more.

Born Halloween 1979, he started producing music at the age of 15. Being a former death metal fan it was not until a friend exposed him to a mix tape, containing a hardcore remix of Pantera’s “Fucking Hostile,” that he became intrigued with electronic music. After hearing the underground side of electronic music there was no turning back. He then began to divulge in a variety of electronic genres, inspired by the fact that similar technology could produce such a plethora of results. He knew that he wanted to get more involved, but hardware was expensive, and obtaining such items seemed completely out of reach. That is until he realized that the answer was right under his nose. Having been addicted to file trading on local Bulletin Board System’s for quite some time, he then realized that sequencer’s dubbed “Trackers” occupied his hard drive and could be used for much more than the pop music recreations often found online.

Lately Future Prophet has decided to make Drum N Bass his main creative point of focus. In the last few years he has played at many weekly club nights in Chicago such as Bass By The Pound’s “The Seminar”, Rotation, Future Roots, Full Contact, Drummatix Mondays, Midwest Heavyweights, and Subside Tuesdays just to name a few. He has also performed at numerous one-off’s around the Midwest not to mention dozens of events propelled by his own crew Sit N Spin Productions. His most recent CD “Fuckin A – Drum N Bass In Diversity” is part two of a three part promotional series entitled “Trilogy Of Fuck.” This CD is a collaboration of many “styles” of Drum N Bass and should appeal to lovers of all facets of the genre. At the moment this CD is free to the public and available upon request.

Future Prophet & Ikai’ka:

For the last few years Future Prophet & Ikai’ka have been doing tag team sets around the Midwest. This eventually inspired their show, Sonic Sabbath, every Sunday on mw-dnb.com. The natural chemistry between them is remarkable, and is plain to see when watching them perform together.

Saigon Suicide Squad (Future Prophet, Suplex, and Phase MC):

Their mission is simple: global salvation. Their weapons of mass corruption: turntables of terror, mixer of madness, and a microphone of mayhem. Check out Future Prophet alongside Suplex and Phase MC for a triple threat you will never forget.

Future Prophet’s Influences:

Pretty much any music as long as its good. Besides electronic music, his biggest influences would be classical, jazz, and rock music that is somewhat dated. On the drum n bass side of things artists like Calibre, Teebee, Ram Records Crew, and Bad Company (in their prime) would be some favorites just to name a few. On the techno side artists like Richie Hawtin, Josh Wink, Mistress Barbara, & Danilo Vigorito are his most notable influences. From there the list stretches beyond human comprehension as Future Prophet enjoys listening to a very wide range of electronic music.

Comment: good set. smooth rollers all the way thru. I prefer the harder stuff but this one is good for when I'm busy at work.
