Biography of Marcus Meinhardt
Marcus Meinhardt was born in in Belzig in 1975. His musical career already began in his youth when he got in touch with Hip Hop and Breakdance for the first time. In 1995 he started organising parties at the legendary MUNA in Badklosterlausitz / Thuringia [www.muna.de]. With this new experience he acquired himself the necessarily know how about the scene.
Since he had completely committed himself to Muna in 1997 he had continuous contact with the music, the artists & agencies. Due to his increasing displeasure with the techno scene at that time he distanced himself from it and switched to Breakbeat. However his love to Techno music never disappeared.
In 1999 he joined the Sonne Mond & Sterne team with some other people from Muna. Together they planned and arranged the whole festival. This cooperation became a long lasting friendship. Today the Muna, with its own club tent, is an inherent part of the festival. After a change of the location he furthermore devoted himself to music & the organisation of Muna events, while he operated in Jena´s fashion scene.
He decided to live in Berlin and got to know the capitals night scene with its open and friendly manner.Marcus` first gigs, which soon entailed further performances in Berlins clubs, succeeded, and he got more and more acceptance. In the following year he began to produce his own stuff. His first remix on Playmate Music in cooperation with Jaxson, together they are Starskey & Hutch, came on the market.
His first own EP, released on micro.fon records in January 2006, was a minimal clubhit in Berlin & was also played & supported all over Europe Japan & Southamerica.
After the Casino Club, his first residency in Berlin, had closed, he became a DJ at the Watergate and also is resident at the Muna. Since June 2004 he´s regularly organising his ‘home match’ in Thuringia and in late 2005 he started his own ‘Home Sweet Home’ parties in Berlin, which are already legendary in the capital’s nightlife.
