Steven Dimitri has been on a musical path since his childhood. His love for music and the study of piano at an early age set the foundation for developing his understanding and passion for house music. It was in the mid 80's that Steven discovered dance music and the early sounds of hip-hop. He was immediately drawn to the upbeat, feel good rhythms of these styles and he realized that dance music was his calling. In 1992, Steven was introduced to turntables and the art of mixing records. He instantly fell in love with the art and possessed a natural understanding of the fundamentals. After mastering the breakbeat techno and jungle sounds of the early 90's, Steven's style has since progressed to a more mature House sound. Steven's mixing style can be described as a fusion of Jazz, Disco, Funk, and Dub that is all his own. Steven feels that he is more than just a DJ; he is a performer. His passion behind the decks is truly evident and his infectious energy has captivated countless dancers. Steven goes way beyond simply playing records; he creates mixes and transitions that take the music to higher levels. Along with house music, Steven also has a love for hip-hop, downtempo grooves, and the art of turntableism. He is constantly developing his turntableist techniques and is always pushing the limits to further increase his skills on the tables. Steven also has an intense passion for Jazz, its history, and the study of Jazz piano. According to Steven, Jazz is life, and it has been the single most important inspiration in developing his innovative style. It was jazz that inspired him to release the influential mixed cd series, Jazz Flowin', of which copies continue to sell worldwide. In 2001, Steven decided that it was time to take his career to the next level. His progression has led him to producing his own music. With unreleased projects already blowing up dance floors, he intends to release original material in the near future.
